and here is an outstandingly unpopular opinion—please don’t come at me with pitchforks 

at the risk of aggravating the entire fandom, I have to say I’m rather okay with the six episode order. Does it sadden me that this will be the last season? Absolutely! I wish we could have gotten a few more episodes—I really do—-but it seems that the plan was always to end on a high note with a shortened episode order. Nikita is one of those rare shows that never quite caught on; we’ve always been a circle of very small but devoted fans. The problem stems from the fact that Nikita was on the wrong network from the beginning, and it never really thrived. We can shout at the CW for their poor treatment of the show since its inception, but in retrospective, the consistent low ratings never guaranteed us anything. Rather that criticize the network for the way they’ve treated Nikita over the years, we should take into consideration that they’ve routinely gone out on a limb for a show that never should have been on their network.
